    Another vote for the packed in look!  Grasses and perennials are easy to move as they expand, you'll probably want to divide them by then anyway.  I'd agree with @JennyJ to place your shrubs in the right place and then work around them.  I wouldn't add any more though.  It's going to look good!

  • thanks all - I'll focus on shrub position. Good point about not planting a shrub in the middle - makes a lot of sense visually

    I also like a packed border, but I also know what a PITA it can be when you have to try and get in and lift stuff because it outgrows a space  ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
