Escallonia Apple Blossom Yellow leaves

I planted an Escallonia Apple Blossom in a beech bark border along with Osmanthus Wurkwoodii, in each case I left an area a soil around the plants free of beech bark for watering and feeding in full sun/partial shade. I have watered well but not excessively, I have fed with Liquid seaweed in each case. The Osmanthus has flourished and grown well, the Escallonia has some yellow leaves, has not grown very much, have I done anything wrong, should I consider replanting in a pot. I should say not all the leaves are yellow.

older leaves tend to yellow and fall as new growth starts. I'd not panic ( just yet  ;) )

Escallonias regularly drop foliage, so it isn't necessarily a problem. However, they prefer a sunny site, with well drained soil,  whereas that Osmanthus burkwoodii thrives in shade and moisture, although it can cope with drier soil once established.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
