  Does anyone know what causes this white mottling on this climbing rose-mainly along the central veins- a few whitefly in evidence- are they causing it?

  Our rose expert says the marks are from saw fly, not hoppers.

  Thank you Fire, I also put this on the Rose thread and am being advised it’s sawfly which created havoc last year with a whole rose bed, so have asked for advice about how to deal with it.  I don’t mind sharing my roses with a bit of wildlife but they decimated them last year and I had to cut them right back and lost all the flowers!

  I have similar marks definitely from hoppers.
