Why is there one glass shelf above the bottom drawer in my freezer?
Google just wants to sell me replacements

How would it stop my veg drying out in the freezer?
I think it might be to regulate air flow / temperature in some way, but why?
It's above the smaller drawer that must have the workings behind it .

So you can see what is in the drawer?  And allow a bit more ambient light in the the back of the drawer?

At a guess, freezers have soild draw bases and are packed full of food so a light would be pointless.
My chest freezers all have lights so I may well be wrong!
