Help ID and treat dying bush

Hi, can anyone tell me what this bush is why it's dying but the one 10ft away looks healthy?

Thanks.

If it is 6 feet that is what it gets to and then ......We have one that we had in the garden and kept very small for many years and then we moved it. It loved it and looks @ian thenut like your ok photo. Maybe it has grown out of the area it is in or something else is happening underground.

The most common reason for that browning is drought.
There's certainly a lot of other shrubs and plants nearby. All competition for moisture.
Like conifers,  it's often too late by the time the damage is visible.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Sadly I agree think it may be too late.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
