    I grow Jack Frost. Slugs love them, especially when the leaves are young, but they will chew older leaves and the flowers, too. I think you will have to improve the protection you give the plant now and every Spring as it emerges, or they could weaken it beyond recovery. Ash and coffee are of very little use, to be honest. Otherwise, it's a lovely plant and tough as old boots.

  • Thanks! The ash seemed to work for a while..and had read that the bitter coffee is a deterrent… clearly not! Any suggestions? I refused to use chemicals….
