So, I've decided I'm probably going to keep the dahlias in pots on the patio rather than plant them in the ground. If that's the case, am I ok going ahead and doing that now? And they're ok to put out now, right?
The 2 that were showing no growth earlier have started coming along, I'll leave them under cover for now
On nice days, the ones that are growing well can be outside. I've been doing that for a while. I actually left all of mine out from Saturday or Sunday. They're in the sunniest part of the garden, and sheltered enough from the wind we've had. The temps have varied overnight, but haven't been lower than 6. They're fine.

It depends on the size of pot they're going into in my opinion. I would say the 2 dark leaved ones on the left are okay to go Mine have been outside for a week and are being planted out/put into pots today with luck. Don't forget that slug protection, all the rain wwe've had recently has brought the little blighters out in force.
Yes - slugs are always problematic. I squished four or five large snails a few days ago. The slugs are enjoying eating those, so hopefully they'll leave the dahlias for a while

If you chuck them, they'll just come back The wasps enjoy a squished snail too. I've spent many a few minutes watching them. Not everyone's idea of fun maybe, but they're fascinating creatures Some of those dahlias look like they don't have much soil. It would be worth repotting them, and making sure the level they're at is better. A good layer of soil/compost below, so that the base of the plant itself is higher in the pots

@Fairygirl my kids would not appreciate me inviting wasps into the garden!! 😳 😆
Regarding the soil, yes, you did mention that before but I've haven't got around to it yet 🙈 Are they ok to be reported into their final pot if I'm adding more soil?
Sorry - I forgot if I'd said that re the soil level. I wouldn't put them into anything too much bigger. You could just keep them in the pots they're in, but lift them, and put another layer below the plant.

I'll have to start squishing the snails I find @Fairygirl, I've been chucking them over the hedge!

This is the size of pot I was thinking of planting in, it is quite a bit bigger, so wait for them to grow on a bit, right?
Also, they were all quite dry, should I give them a water? I don't want to over do it based on previous responses.
