Moths

Anyone else have moths waiting to be born?
I'm easily pleased, so you can imagine my excitement to have 3 moth cocoons in the garden this year! I've not seen any here before.. I don't know if they're puss moths, but we had one appear last year, kipping under the patio brolly, so they might be.
I doubt I'll see them hatch but you never know! 😃

This is a Puss moth cocoon, disguised on the bark of a tree. Both the larvae and adults are wonderful.

    Isn't that a beauty?
I have little idea as to what mine are, one is in the finger of a gardening glove in the lean-to shed, one was in the car cover, and one was under a piece of wood under a pot - thankfully I spotted him when I moved the pot for the fence to be fixed - he's now in the shed too. 😊

I've got this one tucked up in the greenhouse. It should emerge next month if all goes well. I disturbed it while moving pots about and tore its cocoon but it seemed happy to make a new one. I think it's a sycamore moth which I can't find any records for locally so I'm very hopeful it survives.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

My glove one has grown to fit the cocoon now, but isn't wiggling, so maybe he's due to hatch soon! I can't see any reason why he'd not be alive, but I thought they wiggled as long as they're a crysalis?
