ceanothus Victoria trees

please can someone help with why my trees are going brown/yellow? I water them once a week/2 weeks

    All evergreens lose some leaves gradually throughout the year so it might just be normal turnover. If it's more than that, then possibly not enough water. If you make sure that the pot has decent drainage holes and raise it off the ground a bit on pot feet or blocks, it'll be pretty much impossible to overwater through spring and summer. The pot looks quite small for the size of the plant so if it's been in there more than a year or so it might be getting root bound, which makes it difficult to hydrate properly.

    I agree with the advice given by @JennyJ  above. 
    I would water that every other day … possibly every day in very warm weather. The equivalent of at least a bucketful each time. 


    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.





  • Thank you thank you so much for the advice, they have been in these pots since maybe Oct/Nov and have been lovely and green up until a few weeks ago. I guess as it got warmer. I was worried I would over water them. Anyway thanks so much, I will give them a good watering and look at bigger pots.
