Treating itchy hands after handling ivy

Hi all, my partner spent the weekend taking down some messy English ivy that was hanging from a broken trellis damaged by the storms a while back. He weared gloves but his hands still got a bit itchy afterwards. Wondering if there's any home remedy that works please? Aloe vera? Thanks!

You could try some antihistamine cream - that should help with the itchiness

Aloe Vera gel works on itches and bites.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Antihistamine cream, or calendula cream, would be my suggestions.
