Indeed. Often while pushing a pram with a baby. How sad is that.  :/

The sad thing is the parent instigated his child to damage the plants

Unfortunately @res, some people are total scumbags. What chance have some children got when that's the example they have   :|

I volunteer at Capel Manor college gardens. The Japanese garden is right next to the cafe area. We have many problems with parents sat chatting over their coffee while the children run riot over the garden. At times we have closed it off so peple can only view it from outside.  One parent got a bit miffed when I pointed out how deep the pond is in the middle and informed her very firmly that if her little dearheart fell in it would be up the her to fish him out! There are play areas provided, luckily the got the hint and moved on to one of those.

It doesn't just happen in gardens or similar either. My daughter works for a supermarket which is inside a small shopping centre. One day, a young child - no parent anywhere in sight - decided it was time for going to the loo.
I'll leave it to your imagination where it decided that 'loo' was.
There used to be an Early Learning Centre in there too. A common situation, when it was closing time, was staff finding several children in there on their own while the parents went to other shops.
