    Ducks are fantastic. We had one move in with us for a while and she used to follow me round the garden, gobbling up the slugs and woodlice. Of course, she was in the shed at night, so not a complete solution.  And then there was the damage she did....

    I have wild ducks and they do help, but they also eat plants.

    There's something like 1000 slugs per m² in soil or some wild number, so it's an eternal job picking them, but I've done it for years. I do love them, but I do let them take their chances on the gravel patch, lol! The log piles are out the way of the flowers, so the first dining opportunity is bits of bird seed, which slugs and snails adore! The frogs just sit by one of the 8 bird saucers and wait for dinner to put itself on a plate. 🤣 I stroke their little green heads and thank them, they don't mind a bit. 
    My garden is tiny, so I have to make a small space as diverse as possible for all the wildlife I can cram in. 😄
