Echium

My echium leaves are turning red . They were potted indoors over winter and have been in the ground for 2 weeks now . 
I have a couple that have been in the ground since last year with no problems at all . Is it the soil ?

    I've never grown Echiums but cold nights can result in a reddish tinge in the foliage of lots of plants, so maybe that's it.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    More likely the plant complaining about the sudden change in microclimate. You'll possibly lose those leaves that are changing colour, but it's fairly normal for them to go a bit bald at the base when they start to reach for the sky with their massive flower spike.

    Thanks , I’ll keep an eye on them , just seems to be that one in the pic , the other 3 seem fine . I so want them to survive , lost all my others last year in the frost …. Even though they were fleeced . Only being growing them since lockdown so yet to have my first flower spike 😍

    I grow Echiums. Yours look fine, red tinge probably due to environmental factors.
