Is this a weed?

Hi there
I would appreciate any advice on this plant please. If it’s a weed then it’s a plant in the wrong place 👍 However if it’s a flower then it’s in the right place in my flower bed. Thanks

Very difficult to tell, could be one of many plants, my thought is yellow poppy.

Don't think it is Meconopsis cambrica [ Welsh poppy ], but not sure what it is.
How can you lie there and think of England

Thank You for talking the time to respond. It’s in an area where I had lots of wild flowers last year so I thought it may have come from one of those. I’ll leave it to see what develops. Thank you 😊

If you don't get an answer BobMcfish may I suggest that you leave it until it flowers and then you might get an answer as I'm sure that those of us that don't know would like to  - if you see what I mean  :)

Thank you. I think the poppy vote is a good one. I will let you all know. It does look similar to the yellow poppies in my garden but much bigger and more fast growing
  • I’ve just come across ur post - looks very similar to mine posted earlier - love to know what u decide it is - you might let me know. Poached egg plant has been suggested - would be lovely if so!

I can’t find a better picture of the poached egg plant I grew from seed a few years back.

I’ve found a pic with it in the background and cropped it (it was in a trough).

Yes according to the PictureThis app it is a Corn Poppy. It’s currently looking quite ugly and although it has developed many flower buds none of them have opened
