"but no flowers at all beyond last spring."
That's because you've pruned all the flowering stems off - as already said.
Don't prune it and you'll probably have plenty next year.   :)

I'm not sure it'll be happy in that pot for long though, unless it's one of those smaller, compact types. It'll need the soil refreshed too - anything potted needs more attention than in the ground.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Fairy is right about pruning, I don't think I ever pruned mine and they produced hundreds of flowers every year once the plants were established.

Also, you need really big pots to give it a good few years to get sorted.
Yes I reckon I messed up witht he pruning. It was certainly looking wonderfully healthy but no sign of flowers. I will have to be more patient. Your plant looks lovely!

That is gorgeous @Sheps and I like the pot too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks Busy-Lizzie...unfortunately the picture is from a few years ago, I've been away from gardening since mid 2019 due to illness, but feeling a little better now.

I've planted 4 more Ceanothus Skylark this week in the same pots, so should be treated to the same display in a couple of years.
