I forget the name, little buggers. The only cure I know is to look over the leaves for the webs, and squish the contents. Only possible with small trees!
I found one of these on my agapanthus yesterday. I didn't have gloves on so removed it with a trowel then dropped it on the gravel then couldn't find it again🙄
It's the Tortrix moth, and they will be mainly attacking the new young leaves at this time of year. The tell-tail web they create. On an establish shrub, you can squish them or cut off the leaves. They're unlikely to cause major issues on an establish shrub.
Thank you, that’s great. I will just leave them. The bay tree is OK. I trimmed a few damaged leaves off. I was just curious really, I’m quite new to gardening and find the little creatures fascinating. 😁
