What is eating my bay tree?

Does anyone have any idea what this is? I think it may be eating my bay tree

I forget the name, little buggers. The only cure I know is to look over the leaves for the webs, and squish the contents. Only possible with small trees!

I found one of these on my agapanthus yesterday. I didn't have gloves on so removed it with a trowel then dropped it on the gravel then couldn't find it again🙄

It's the Tortrix moth, and they will be mainly attacking the new young leaves at this time of year. The tell-tail web they create. On an establish shrub, you can squish them or cut off the leaves. They're unlikely to cause major issues on an establish shrub.
  • Thank you, that’s great. I will just leave them. The bay tree is OK. I trimmed a few damaged leaves off. I was just curious really, I’m quite new to gardening and find the little creatures fascinating. 😁
