Plant ID for friend

Look like some sort of giant allium, but I've never seen anything like these.

    Allium summer drummer. It grows to about 5 or 6 ft and flowers in June rather than May.  The flowers are a bit of a disappointment at tennis ball size.  With a huge stalk I was hoping for football size.

    It is an allium could be Nectaroscordum?
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
