Pear tree - leaves black

Hi, could someone advise on what's going on with my pear tree. Last year almost all the leaves were edged in black or had black markings. I put it down to it being exposed to sever wind. It did make one pear last year, it was lovely.  The pear tree next to it looks okay and is covered in buds.

Could one of you experts help and tell me what I have to do and what wrong with it.  Thank you.

It looks like damage by cold and wind, to me.  The young leaves are quite soft and susceptible to damage, particularly in the first weeks after they emerge, and I think you are right in suggesting this is what caused the black edges last year too.

Pear blister mite could have caused that bumpy leaf in your second photo (though it's a bit hard to see it clearly).  It can look horrendous but apparently doesn't cause the tree any problems, and the RHS says you should ignore it...   :)

Oh, okay. I tried to fleece the tree last year but it was pretty awful do gave up. Strange the other tree is okay.
