what to do with fresh horse/pony manure?

I've got hold of a good amount of fresh manure. Its from a pony thats in a field so there's no straw with the manure. I can see there's new growth of grass etc in the bags sprouting from the manure. I can't use it like it is obviously as it'll just sprout grass/weeds everywhere. I'm thinking of storing it in big black plastic bags for some months to mature it and hopefully kill off the growth but not sure if this is the best way. Any suggestions very welcome. Thanks

That would be the best solution. Or stack it somewhere if you have room, and cover it with a tarp or similar.  :)

Bag it and leave for 6 months or so.  Alternatively, stack it and cover and leave for the same amount of time.

Or mix in with your own compost if you have a compost heap.
