Please help me identify this weed

Hello 

I’m renovating an old house and garden, which hasn’t been mowed in years. I’ve stumbled upon many weeds shown in the attached picture. 

Does anyone know what this is ? Am I best placed to dig this out or apply weed killer ?

    A bit difficult to tell from the picture, could be buttercup, or could be perennial geranium from the leaf shape. The roots will tell you, if there is mass of white roots its buttercup, longer brown roots geranium.

    Apologies, I mean the weed in the centre of the photo. Ive marked it up to show you. The bottom left is where I’ve mowed it.

    It looks like rough grass to me so digging it out will be an easy job.

    It's as uff said, just a rough grass that you can dig out.
