Certainly worth trying, I think they will be fine.
How can you lie there and think of England

    Yes I would go ahead.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

Last week I found a jam jar half-full of them that I'd saved last year so I chucked some around the border. Nothing yet but I reckon as soon as we get some rain to dampen them, they'll be up. The flowers will be later than the ones that self-sowed and are already fair-sized plants.

Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

We just planted a load at the weekend. Keep them damp for them to germinate and grow.
