Hubby has just come home with this photo of a plant growing in the surrounding fields around here.  Apparently it was about 8-10 inches tall and there were lots of them amongst the grass.  Does anyone know what it is? The flower reminds me of geraniums a bit. Many thanks.

    native wild flower. 
    We used to call it Mayflower, but it's got lots of common names
    Devon.

    Cuckoo Flower is another name, Cardamine pratensis

    One of my favourites ♥️ Food plant for the orange tip butterfly. I've taken a few leaf cuttings this year to try and propagate some for the garden.

    It's in the same family as e.g. honesty, dame's violet, wild mustards... A lovely plant :)

    I love it too. I've kept some that was already here.
    It's a glorious site at this time of year in areas it colonises - often ones which need a bit of a lift like the side of motorways and 'middle of road' verges    :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
