    I'd reduce all the stems by a third and keep your plant well watered, moist but not waterlogged.  New buds should appear within the next four weeks or so.  A mulch of well rotted manure, soil conditioner or compost will be better for your plant than a synthetic fertiliser.  Good luck!

    I think that's just been crowded out by other plants, which has resulted in it being leggy. The fact that you've said the garden was overgrown would suggest that  :)
    It'll be fine with a good watering and some organic matter. They're quite easy, and you can certainly prune them back no problem. It should come away over the next six months or so.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Good luck with it @keithcorsby. It can be a bit daunting sorting out a dishevelled and overgrown space, but you'll get there  :)
