Violet flowers in grass

My mum, in her 80s, asked me to look at her back lawn.

It's got violet flower weeds growing all over it

Any idea what they are and how to treat it

Not sure at her age she's up for me digging it up and starting again!

Could it be one of the bugle plants? Bees love it.

It's Ground Ivy., Glechoma hederacea. Beautiful and insects love it. Much better for all than boring grass

Agree @nutcutlet Not sure why I didn't recognise it sooner and yes the bees and other pollinators love it and "much better for all than boring grass".

    I wouldn't mind that in my grass😊

  • But if she wanted to get rid if it?

We have it in our grass, have to admit it is very pretty and the bees love it until OH cuts the flowers off when he mows.

Hi - you can get weed and feed lawn treatments.

As with any plant you don’t want, there are two options, weedkiller, or dig them out.
