Air bubbles in mini pond

Hi everyone!

I’m very new to the world of ponds and have made my first one in a Belfast sink (about 3 weeks weeks ago).
The pond has rocks plus a few plants, however we are now getting problems with a film of air bubbles.
I’m not planning on putting any fish in here this is just going to be a wildlife pond.
My husband seems to think that a small water feature or snails could help?

Any ideas I would really appreciate

Thank you ☺️

  • Nice!
It looks like you have an oxygenating plant in there..which is good. That'll be creating air bubbles along with the potted water plants (air will escape from the soil for a while).Rain water will add oxygen too.
Personally I wouldn't have lined it..not that it matters.
For now, I'd leave it to mature a bit. Insect life will prefer still water.
Once all the plants get a little bigger to provide a bit of cover I'm sure wildlife will love it.
  • I made a barrel pond last year and for the first few weeks it had bubbles and started to get scummy. Went out one morning and it was crystal clear. It'll sort itself out 🙂
  • Thank you @Chris-P-Bacon and @februarysgirl.
I’ll wait and let it do it thing!
