Grit Stone 2-6mm rather than granite Dust under the Artificial grass

Hi everyone, we would love some help.

We ordered Granite Dust  as a 25mm laying course on top of our type 1 sub base, before putting down artificial grass. They have supplied 2-6mm GRIT STONE instead, we were going to return but the guy is sure it’s absolutely fine to use and should drain well. ( it permeable)

Are we ok to continue with the GRIT STONE ??

Thanks in advance.

    Hello Jenny,
Must admit l can't answer your question from personal experience, and as far as l know there aren't that many forum members with artificial grass, but l did find this
    https://www.artificiallawn.co.uk/blog/what-sub-base-should-i-use-with-artificial-lawn/

If it's permeable then in theory it should be fine, but on the other hand it's not what you ordered , and personally l would ask for it to be changed.
  • I laid artificial grass under the kids playhouse and trampoline. I used hardcore with dust on top - the guides I followed made a lot of getting a completely smooth and solid surface when the dust is compacted, I’m not sure you could get this with that size grit
