Philodendron?

Is this houseplant really a philodendron, as the label states?   It doesn't look like Philodendron Selloum.  Is it actually a Monsteras?  That is what I thought it was until I looked at the label.  It's from a big box DIY store, but the label is from the growers.

It's a rescue, so I am going to let it spend a few weeks in bright indirect light before doing anything with it.  I did tie it up because it was flopped out about 5 feet wide.. probably due to being indoors under nothing but high ceiling fluorescent lights.

Haha.. thanks @pansyface.  As my children have grown (now 11 and 8), I find myself rescuing ever larger houseplants from the 50% off shelf.  My fiddle leaf fig from last summer is now nearing the ceiling, soon to be halved and propagated to create a forest around my couch.  The rubber tree from the same cart isn't nearly as large, yet, but I plan for it to eventually make a proper tree.  Now with this monster.. probably a feature for the living room as well.  Visitors will have to push through a dense jungle to find a seat.

You'll know as it grows. A Monstera will grow upwards, whilst a Philodendron will grow more like a vine i would think.

it’s Monstera deliciosa. Super house plant. Will produce edible fruit eventually if you are lucky.

Definitely Monstera Deliciosa. You might have to chain it down…I just read an article in The Guardian about plant thefts on the increase! Some are changing hands for about £40k!!
