Good or bad caterpillar

It’s hiding all curled up in the tulip. Is it a moth or butterfly caterpillar? Good guy?

Looks like a Yellow Underwing Moth caterpillar, not sure if it will be a good guy.

Well I learnt to dislike those little angry waving caterpillars that ate my rose leaves. And I’m wary of hairy ones because their hairs are a serious irritant. I have lots of places for all kinds of critters in my garden but don’t need them eating up everything I plant either.
  • Not the best photograph, but I also think it might be a Yellow Underwing Moth, which is nothing to worry about. It will pupate soon.

Thanks - it does look like the common yellow underwing moth. I’d rather it didn’t eat the tulips so I’ve put it in the wildlife  section.
