  • If you simply have to remove it I have done similar by digging around and using a cheap recipricating saw to cut the roots.  If you can leave it in place you can drill a couple of holes and cover the stump with earth to speed up the rotting.

    Wondered what the smell was........ kept thinking it was the old bag of horse  manure!!
