Dahlias crown gall

Hello,
I’ve been inspecting dahlias that I left in the ground over the winter and I see that some of them have something I’ve identified as crown gall (looks like mini cauliflowers).  So disappointing.  I’ve read about it, on this site, and elsewhere and know I have to dispose of the infected tubers;  does anyone know if I have to get rid of all of the tubers in the flowerbed, even ones that seem healthy?  Also, do infected dahlias sprout healthy looking shoots?
Any advice really appreciated,
Thank you
Allie

There is no evidence to suggest you should remove all of the tubers in a bed.
Some experts say it is a reason to lift Dahlias, the longer they are in the soil, the more likely they are to get it.
How can you lie there and think of England

I think you'll be okay to leave the unaffected ones in the ground.
With dahlias , from personal experience l would say it doesn't affect the growth. I've only had it affect my dahlias once and that was some years ago.  l'm pretty sure they flowered. It was only when l lifted them l spotted the gall.
  • Thanks both of you for the advice.  Going to leave most of them where they are and keep my fingers crossed.
