Lawn over old garden wall concrete foundation

I'm in the process of remodelling my garden and have a removed a small 2 foot high garden wall. I intend to have lawn over where this wall was.

The concrete foundation of this wall is approx 5 inches below the surface/finished ground level and approx 10 inches wide. Will this have a significant effect on any lawn laid above. I'm hoping not as it will be a big job to remove all 15m of it and dispose of the hardcore!!

    You should be fine. However, in dry spells you may well see the lawn lighter in colour in this area due to the foundations. It may also retain the water a little more in winter. As long as you can put up with that I would go for it.

    I agree, the grass will grow but in dry weather you might get what archeologists call parch marks where the wall foundations are, because there's less soil depth and it will dry out faster than the rest of the ground.

    Thanks, I was hoping it would be ok as the foundation is quite narrow. I'm not aiming for a high quality lawn anyway, just something kids can play on. If a strip goes slightly brown in hot weather I can deal with that!
