Euphorbia trigona Outgrown pot!

The plant, stands around 70cms above the top of the pot which is about 30cms diameter. What size of pot does it need? It seems to be thriving, it was only a couple of feet high when we bought it, but looks top heavy and is a bit wobbly. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi, they don't seem to need a very big root ball and generally you wouldn't want to go up much in pot size. If you can find a sturdy, heavy pot about an inch or two bigger you can pot it on. The other way to do it is to leave it in its pot and put that pot into a slightly larger one which will add weight and make it more stable. It might be hard to match but see if you can find something to stabilise the bottom a bit.

They are are so really easy to propagate and you can take some of the height out of it if you need to. If you do want to do this then read up on how to propagate  euphorbia as they have a nasty sap which you need to be careful of.

Thank you thevictorian. Sound advice. We are attempting to propogate two cuttings now, one in water, the other in soil. Lots of new growth on the main plant. Thank you again.
