I am a native English speaker but sympathise with you on this @Papi Jo. I don't understand why it's so difficult to just type the word. Also, why 'Dear' this and 'Dear' that as with DD and DH for (dear)daughter and (dear)husband?? I doubt they are referred to that way in normal conversation.

Easy to type on a keyboard (for me at least as I touch-type) but not as easy when posting on a tablet or phone ... commonly accepted abbreviations are useful ... you don't have to use them and once you understand them you can read/interpret them as you choose. I've rarely if ever seen DD or DH on the GW forum
