Irises have changed colour

My bearded irises have been pale blue forever. This year they're Cadbury's chocolate purple or even darker and there's loads of buds. I'm not complaining, they're lovely.
I didn't do anything so it must've been the weather.
In London. Keen but lazy.

     @WonkyWomble’s bearded irises that should be dark maroons and chocolates etc are all blue … maybe you should swap 😂 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    I'm keeping mine. I prefer the colour. I'll have to sniff and see if they still smell
    Maybe it was the Sahara dust🤔
