Scilla on Gardener’s World

EmerionEmerion Posts: 599
On GW at the weekend there was a shot of some primroses amongst some tiny blue flowers, which I thought were Scillas. It wasn’t at Long Meadow, but can’t be more specific than that. I looked up Scilla Siberica and the size and colour are right, but I think I recall that the flowers on the program had their heads facing up. Did anyone else see them? Any ideas? They looked lovely around the primroses, and I have a spot in the garden that they would fit into just right.
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

They are scilla luciliae ( used to be called chinodoxa luciliae.)
There's a good darker blue, scilla sardensis, with flowers that look at you.
Scilla siberica are a stunning blue but not as effective en masse, nice to view close up I think.
