What's been munching my tulips?

A few totally decimated, a few with holes in the leaves, happily the majority are thriving. Just curious if none knows?

    They could be mine! 
    I planted some in the ground last autumn and the leaves emerged already damaged, I presume by slugs underground.
    I've kept the ones in pots free of slug and snail damage, so in future I won't plant in the ground where I really want to make a feature of tulips. Odd ones dotted about or at the back of borders don't seem as bad if they fail, but I was disappointed when mine looked like your photo.
    Of ten planted one has a flower!
    Better luck next time or in a pot.

    Slugs - unfortunately.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Grrrrr, pesky blighters! Never even entered my head. Better start slug patrol tonight, want those for my table next weekend. Never had my own cut flowers before. But like you @Woodgreen, all my pots are doing fine 😁

    The roe deer has been munching mine.  Clean cut across the leaves, plus a few flowers.

    Muntjak deer eat mine

    Tulips are irresistible to deer in this garden.  But they do decapitate them very neatly 😀

    Two beauties completely de-capitated last night ☹️. Nothing else eaten bud the flower heads totally sawn off (definitely no deer round these parts)

    I didn’t think we had deer in my last garden & there were 6 ft fences all round till one day I saw movement at the end of the garden and a Muntjak deer was shimmying under the fence through a hole dug by a badger! I never saw the badger but each time I filled the hole and dip in, a couple of days later it was dug out again.
