Keeping seeds moist

Hi all I sowed dome sweet peas a out a week ago forgetting I would be away next week. They are in a cold frame, just wo dering what is the best way to keep the compost moist? They haven't germinated yet and am awat for a week, cheers

    I wouldn't worry about them. They're unlikely to dry out, especially if you leave the lid open so that some rain can get in. They should take around 2 to 4 weeks to germinate anyway.
    If the cold frame's in a very sunny spot, it's worth moving them somewhere shadier though  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    They are very unlikely to have germinated before you come back, and if they do, they won't be damaged by being dry for one or two days at this early stage. As others have said, just keep them out of the sun.
