All sounds good to me Scot, apart from I can't understand why you're laying cardboard beneath the membrane, and I don't personally like the idea of a bin-lid as a centrepiece to your front garden. If that's what you want to present to the world though, have at it!

@scotjam You have obviously working very hard.  Started with the dream of a wild life garden. Lots of different ideas were put forward by forum members, which took your thoughts in many different directions as to the best way to approach it. I think what you have achieved is really good, you have your wildlife garden but it also has a strong element of design with the cobble circle. Simple and effective.

You say you are getting to a stage where you have nearly finished it. A good garden is never finished it evolves over time. It is also an expression of you and what you like.
