Conifers

Hi. I had some conifers removed in October and would like to plant Lavenders inbetween the stumps. Is this safe to do so or do I need to treat the stumps first?

Perfectly safe, but whether they'll be happy is the main factor.  As long as they have sun, and are well watered until properly established, in theory, they should be ok, but if the soil is now quite acidic, due to the legacy of the conifers, they may not do well   :)

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
