Badger Damage

I know this was mentioned recently but I couldn't find the thread. Anyway this was waiting for me this morning. Fairly trivial compared to what we've had in the past but thought I'd show it as there was a recent question about what could have caused such damage. As you can see I caught the 'perp' on the trail cam. I'd post the video but I'd need to upload it to YouTube first.







But am I bitter? Well I'm not best pleased but I guess I'd rather have the badgers than a perfect lawn. I just wish they'd go and dig up next doors lawn instead  :#

    I guess, move the bird feeder if you'd rather not have that bit dug up.

    I move the feeder pole every week to limit build-up of detritus. The bit of the lawn that has been dug up is where I'd just moved it from  :|

    I love wildlife but I wouldn't be pleased to see a badger or the damage they do in my garden. I caught one on the trail cam that I borrowed the other week that I'd placed in the woodland at the side of me at various sites. I don't think they could get into the garden and I don't think they would have a need to with the vast area of woodland and fields around here. Thank goodness.

    I know it's easy to say "wow, you have badgers", moles, deer etc, but I see that great damage they can do to a garden.

    @VictorMeldrew ,  I’ve always felt sorry that I was not in the position to have wonderful wildlife in my garden, especially as the frogs have not spawned this year ,but after seeing the damage they have done to your lawn I realise it’s a mixed blessing. I’ll put up with the voles, water boatmen and the squirrels much better now. Valerie

    To be honest @valerieroberts it happens often during the bird-feeding season but by late summer you won't be able to tell where the damage was  :)

    Wish I had water boatmen. But I guess we'd need a pond first  :D
