As a rule of thumb faeces from carnivorous animals will often contain harmful organisms so not suitable for compost etc

I rather thought @holsdad1 meant the chance of a tiny bit of dog poo being left on the grass after scooping up and binning the poo, not putting the actual poo in the compost. I think that would be OK, particularly if it's rained or you rinse it off too.

Isn't Wickes topsoil supplied by Rowlawn?

I used it to fill a new bed I dug out of the lawn. Filled to a depth of around 6 inches with a mixture of this, grit & garden compost. I added the latter because the topsoil seemed a bit too sieved and unlike what I think of as a growing medium. But it was on offer at the time. The bed is doing pretty well but then the plants may have their roots down into the underlying clay by now.

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

Sterilised apparently did ask if this was safe for veggies and fruit which they said they would ask the retailer but I have added it to my veggie containers with compost.
