    The OP's will certainly take a while to be big enough and mature enough to flower well - they're like clematis in that respect, but you can move them no problem. I've done it too, without them stalling.
    I think the problem with moving them mainly arises when people re plant at a deeper level, and it affects the flowering.
    I suppose I should have clarified my earlier post when I said it would be 'a while'. I wasn't meaning a few months  ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • I've moved a peony too, made a right pig's ear of it too, broke bits off and all sorts. Not only did it survive but it flowered too!

    I’ve grown peonies from smallish tubers and had the flower in the first year so I don’t think it’s that unusual 

    I agree with FairyGirl plant the tuber just proud of the soil
