Bidens 'Blazing Fire'' - how many per basket?

I have bought 3 Bidens Blazing Fire' plugs to put into my half Stewart's Wall Baskets.
The spread is given as 25 to 30cm and my half baskets are 19cm wide.
Now I'm thinking, how many to a basket, one or 2? Do I pack them in or err on the side of caution and plant just one?
I've bought them for my solitary Mason bees who love them apparently.

I'd put in 2 and keep them well fed and watered

  • Thanks for that advice B3. They always say to pack 'em in as far as containers are concerned. I always have at least 2 trailing fuchsias in each half basket and they do well. The Bidens are new to me though, bought especially for my bees!

    You'll enjoy them too!
That sounds like the one I had last year and it got pretty big. Lasted well into winter before it succumbed

  • It's strange how we are all almost conditioned to plant in odd numbers and it makes the idea of putting two into a basket strange!🤣

Well keep one in a single pot and if the container looks a bit sparse in the summer, you can poke it in
