Weather permitting, we're off to the Malvern Show on Friday. Forecast is OK at the moment but I'll check by looking out the window in the morning. Ticket prices are getting to be eye watering, but as it's the first time in 3 years I'll just bite the bullet. It will be interesting to see how much is there compared to normal years. Growers need to commit so far in advance I suspect it will be smaller than pre-covid.
I hope you have a good day @KT53. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the show. I had hoped to go this year but life got in the way. Next year.....
Apparently there are fewer exhibitors in the Floral Marquee and the show gardens are a bit smaller than usual @KT53 , but in the great scheme of things, it could be worse. I hope you have a lovely day.
I had hoped to go to Malvern this year, my favourite show but unfortunately it clashed with a prior commitment.
My daughter's just phoned and told me she'd been to her first show, last weekend, Toby Buckland's Garden Festival in Devon and really enjoyed it. She helped a friend who had a stall selling wicker garden ornaments which she handmakes and who did really well, apart from the rather large stag which people couldn't fit into their cars!
@AnniD fewer exhibits in the Floral Marquee may actually be no bad thing as it used to get packed later in the day. The caveat is that the marquee size hasn't also been reduced. I'm sure we'll have a good time anyway. Just being able to get out and about is still something of a novelty.
We're just back from the Malvern Spring Garden Festival and really enjoyed it. Helped by lovely warm, sunny weather this morning which helped compensate for the £31 per person entry cost! There were fewer exhibits in the Floral Marquee but that actually was beneficial as there was more free space to walk around in there. Normally by lunchtime it's almost impossible to move in there. Certainly no shortage of nurseries with plants to sell in the outside areas.
I watched the launch show on the beeb and was caught by the William Morris garden. The arbour this is right up my street - casting gorg shadows. . The garden itself is far too angular and blocky for Morris - he would be all 'winding mossy ways', no hard surfaces - much more medieval inspired - high romance. But I'm very pleased that Morris & Co. are there.

Such a striking planting combo - like a painting. I can't see what it is.

Verbascum 'Petra' looking stunning. So pretty with the umbels. I find my current verbascum are actually surviving! In pots.

I also have booked tickets for Superbloom which will be great, I think. Is anyone else going?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the show.
