Plant for screening

hoseasonhoseason Posts: 1
Any ideas ? Want shrub to grow beside wall that is 6 feet high ,something high enough to clear this and provide screening from neighbours upper rooms so pretty tall .just 2 metres from corner of my house extension.Maybe Lavatera but must be prolific, width no problem, or something standardised
Thanks in anticipation

Lavatera is a short lived shrub. Photinia would be an evergreen option, if your soil is wet in  winter they are prone to leaf spot. Not only can Photinia be pruned you can lift the canopy on a mature plant and then plant underneath it. However there are concerns as to how close it is to property. You can buy Photinia, fan trained but forum members have reported damage due to high winds recently ,it can act like a sail. What ever you do there is no quick fix, shrubs that are faster growing have roots to match.
