Nourishing my hostas

JacquimcmahonJacquimcmahon Posts: 1,039
My hostas have started to show through the soil (hey they came back, be nice this is a thrill for me as last year was my first growing them)…. Yes I’m easy pleased 😀. So my question is do I start feeding them and if yes with what? I’m also assuming they will be bigger in year 2?
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

So how do I know when? A certain size, or particular time period. There seems to be a bit of conflicting info on the different sites I visited

It's still March, I'd not feed until at least May. ( depending on the weather )

What feed do you use?  I've never fed mine and they still come up every year.  They'd be like Triffids if I fed them.

Useful thread. I can empathise, @Jacquimcmahon
I bought two Hostas last year, and they survived the summer without being eaten by slugs, first time ever. Mine are just showing through the soil, and I was also wondering whether they would benefit from some feed.
