Dogwood

I bought an evergreen dogwood last year (cornus angustata “Empress of China”) and it’s loosing all its leaves. I recently read that it needs protection from wind and frost, something I haven’t done until today. My question is will it survive or is it too late?

It should be OK. I don't think it's reliably evergreen in the UK (on the south coast perhaps?). Yes, keep it sheltered. I've haven't grown it but have a friend who has one - I don't see her much now but I'm sure it's lost it's leaves once or twice. (South Lancs)
Her soil is slightly acidic & damp for most of the year.
