Tomatoes, courgettes and sunflowers

The west side of my garden is currently lawn all the way to the fence. It gets full sun. I’m planning to dig a border and plant tomatoes, courgettes and sunflowers together. Would this combination work?

  • I grow all three together in my veg patch.

What do you mean by this combination?

Do you mean are they ok to grow together - Yes, but remember they all need plenty of room around them  :)
    or
Will they look good together? - If you want these plants have these plants  :)

  • I just wondered if they would be happy together. I’ve been growing the courgettes from seeds for a few weeks now and they are all lovely and healthy. The sunflower seeds are collected from last year’s crop and I’ll buy a few small tomato plants when the time comes.
  • They will do great together.

I’m sure you already know but they all like plenty to drink so water regularly.

( I need to take my own advice there 😂, I always say I hate the 3 W’s of gardening, waiting, weeding and watering.😆)

  • Well so far this year we’ve not had very much rain here (south coast). I’ll have to start leaving buckets out.

the problem would be sunflowers since some varieties
give off chemical compounds that hurt growth of other plants.
