Urgent help - wrong grass seed used for reseeding

Have an established lawn but decided to reseed for the bare patches, ordered a dwarf rye grass on Amazon and reseeded today, BUT have now found out they have sent the wrong seed - Paddock grass seed - AM23 Paddock grass!(plain packaging on sack) only just found the note at the bottom of the bag.

How can i stop it germinating without ruining the existing lawn

Thank you

I don't think you can except by picking them off. I'd throw in dome daisies and clover so it doesn't look so odd

. By no means an expert, but I'd wait and see if and what grows. Maybe you'll be lucky and the bird will eat most of it.

You could try setting your lawnmower low to act like a vacuum, sucking up the seed.  Go over your lawn twice, lengthways and then crossways to get up as much seed as possible.  A garden vacuum would also work but would be more labour intensive. What seed is left should be dispersed enough to blend with your existing lawn. Most domestic lawns are a blend of several grass varieties anyway, unless yours is of putting green quality!
