House flies swarmed on Laurel hedge

My laurel hedge is swarmed with ordinary house flies, thousands of them! Nothing else around attracting them. Help!!

Its not an unusual sight at this time of year ... think they're simply sunbathing ... they'll move on soon, especially with the cooler weather forecast for next week.
